"You're Not Built Like That" — good, and I mean that, because I have too much to lose to keep pretending self-destruction is the same thing as strength. In this one, The Angryman goes straight at the biggest lie we still tell each other in the Black community: that manhood is measured by how willing you are to throw your own life away. We took the worst chapters of our story — the pain, the prison bids, the funerals — and somewhere along the way we turned them into a badge of honor. Somebody tells you "you're not built like that," like it's an insult, like being unwilling to risk your freedom over nonsense makes you soft. I'm telling you it makes you smart. "Not built like that" is not a weakness, it's a graduation. The whole super thug image — the fearless, consequence-proof tough guy who dares anybody to test him — is a myth, and it's a myth that's been burying us for forty years while the people selling it stay comfortable. The Angryman breaks down why so many of us should have outgrown this foolishness a long time ago, why we should have never picked it up in the first place, and why grown men still clinging to it at thirty and forty are performing for people who have nothing to lose and nothing to offer them. This is Black Macho and the myth of the super thug, examined without flinching: the ego battles, the flex culture, the constant need to prove you are dangerous — and what it actually costs us. If you have got a family, a business, a future, a name worth protecting, then no, you are not built like that anymore, and that is the entire point. The Angryman holds one standard here — real strength is having everything to lose and choosing your life anyway. Whether I was built like that before is irrelevant; today I am not, on purpose.
