Old Tymey graveyards full of Young Children. The Lindsay Clancy Connection?

ALL THE BABY/CHILD DEATHS AND THE HIGH CHILD MORTALITY RATE PRE-1945.... WAS IT REALLY ALL DISEASE, OR WAS SOMETHING SINISTER HIDING CONVENIENTLY?

Was this a quiet reason that there was such high resistance to women's sufferage and civil liberties?

I am an 1800s/1700s buff. That's a GEN X thing. Living in places like New Mexico, Arizona, even when I lived in Southeast Pennsylvania and explored the history there....Or, if you walk the boot hill graveyard in Dodge City, KS...or in Tombstone...you know the tourist attraction types....you see A LOT of child graves...This one died at two, that one died at four months, that one died at five, this one died at eight, that one died at ten....

They say before modern medicine infant and child mortality was VERY VERY high.. And, given say in 1620, or 1770, or 1881 or even 1910 we didn't have the medicine we have today to fight and prevent disease yes children are healthier...hell even old people age slower and live longer.

This is hard to quantify, but while medicine did advance to preserve life and made a noticible difference...Given Lindsay Clancy, Andrea Yates, et al...I am seriously thinking medicine made a somewhat smaller impact on childhood survival than we give it credit for.

You know what else advanced alongside medicine-forensics and detective work...And, people physically and digitally are closer together...We can be seen more, be found out more easily.. If I'm more likely to be found out or observed, I'm less likely to do things such as take out my kids...Make sense?

Now picture you're a man in a predominantly rural setting, say Virginia or New England, or the Spanish Colony of New Mexico in the 1600's or 1700's or in Kansas in the 1870's or Tombstone in the 1890s and your neighbor is miles away, or, well, things were more remote...more private.

Your wife FLIPS out and you find little Susie four years old blue/gray ashy, not moving and cool to the touch in her bed. Now, the local sheriff might blame you....If he can even get there. And, since there is no real forensic science to sort things out. Well.

Besides this happened five years ago to Bobby when he was two. And, you gotta keep managing the house/farm/ranch/homestead and hope your other four kids just survive with you till they are grown... And, manage mama's bouts of 'melancholy'... If its the 1800s or early 1900s you make sure you keep around some laudnum just for her 'headaches'..

So, you know, consumption, typhoid...food poisoning...well the Doctors then had very little to work with.

So you tell the coroner, Susie had pnuemonia...keep it quiet and hope Melancholy doesn't come back to your wife any time soon.

Three years later, mama takes herself out due to Melancholy... but at least you have four of your kids that survive to help you run the homestead/house/farm/ranch. But, you stay a widower. Oh a saloon girl every once in a great while..but, you're ok with your life...

Do you see the pattern here? I submit this Clancy case is not new at all, and that a good portion of those kids in them old tymey graveyards were EXACTLY the same thing. They just, because of the reality of that day, didn't laregely say the quiet part out loud.

One more question no one bothers or has the nuts to ask. What about the big ole SUDDEN INFANT DEATH SYNDROME epidemic the boomer moms made all the noise about in the 70s, 80s and early 90s? You know that kinda became a thing after Roe V Wade in 73. How much of that was real? How much of that was BS that forensics had not yet caught up to? Boomer women want to weigh in on this?

I AM Repeal the 19th. Do you see now the covers pulled completely back?!?!

Aaron Perdue.
